PBIG Board

The Power BI Gebruikersdagen and the many community initiatives organized throughout the year are made possible by a dedicated board of volunteers who are passionate about data, technology, and the Power BI community. Each member of the board contributes their own expertise, experience, and network to help strengthen the foundation and ensure the continued growth of the community. Together they are responsible for shaping the vision of the foundation, organizing events, maintaining partnerships, supporting speakers and volunteers, and ensuring that every activity contributes to knowledge sharing and collaboration within the data ecosystem.

Throughout the year, the board works closely together to plan and coordinate a wide range of activities, from the well-known Power BI Gebruikersdagen to monthly evening sessions and other community-driven initiatives. By working with partners, speakers, volunteers, and organizations across the industry, they help create a platform where professionals can meet, exchange ideas, and be inspired by the latest developments in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

What unites the board is a shared belief in the power of community and the value of bringing people together. Their goal is to create an environment where learning, inspiration, and collaboration thrive. Through their dedication and commitment, they aim to ensure that every event and initiative contributes to the continued growth of the Power BI community and provides meaningful experiences for everyone involved.

Albert van Dok (Chair / Evening Session Coordinator)

We are pleased to announce that Albert will take on the role of Chair within our foundation. Albert is already a valued member of our team, known for his excellent organization of the monthly evening sessions and the annual Power BI Gebruikersdagen. In this role, he is responsible for planning and coordinating with companies that host our events and for maintaining close contact with all speakers.

As Chair, Albert will use his dedication and expertise to further support and promote the vision of our foundation. We have full confidence that his leadership and organizational skills will contribute to the continued success and growth of our community. We look forward to the new ideas and fresh energy he will bring to this role.

Sara Woltjes (Speaker Manager)

Sara Woltjes has the honor of taking on the role of Speaker Manager as a member of the board. Over the past four years, she has attended the Power BI Gebruikersdagen as a participant and once as a volunteer. These experiences inspired her to become more involved, which led her to take the step this year into a board position.

In her role as Speaker Manager, Sara serves as the primary point of contact for the speakers at the event. Her goal is to support them and ensure they can share their knowledge and expertise with all participants in the best possible way.

Sara strongly believes in organizing events where people with the same passion come together. She looks forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the Power BI Gebruikersdagen and working together with her fellow board members to create something special for the Power BI community.

Daan Oosters (Secretary)

Since June 2024, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Daan Oosters as the Secretary of our Power BI User Group. With his enthusiasm and dedication, Daan is a great addition to our team. He ensures that our board meetings run smoothly and manages communication within the board. In addition, he plays a key role in organizing and coordinating meetings and other internal activities.

Daan has a strong passion for data visualization and has been working with Power BI for many years. As a Power BI consultant, he is also involved in setting up and optimizing Power BI environments within organizations. His structured and effective way of working makes him a perfect fit for the role of Secretary.

Daan is always on the move. Twice a month he records a podcast about Power BI, and in his spare time he volunteers at hockey club HCR, where he can often be found supporting the team from the sidelines.

We are looking for a Treasurer

Are you someone who enjoys working with numbers but also values being part of a team? We are looking for a Treasurer to help safeguard the financial foundation of the Power BI Gebruikersgroep (PBIG), a growing and active community of data enthusiasts.

As Treasurer, you keep track of income and expenses, monitor budgets, and help the board make informed decisions—both ahead of time and along the way. You bring structure, ask the right questions, and ensure we stay financially healthy while organizing events, including our annual three-day conference with nearly 2,000 visitors.

You don’t need to be a seasoned financial expert. What matters most is your affinity with numbers, sense of responsibility, and ability to collaborate within a team. In return, you become part of an engaged and energetic board, gain access to a strong BI network, and contribute to something that brings real value to the community.

Jaap van den Brandhof (Partnermanager)

The Power BI Gebruikersdagen is an annual event that requires attention and preparation throughout the entire year. In 2023, Jaap joined the board and is responsible for working with the partners who make the event possible.

Before becoming a board member, Jaap was already actively involved as a volunteer, working directly with partners to understand their needs and support them where needed. This experience not only gave him valuable insight into the partner ecosystem but also helped him build a strong network within the partner community. His transition to the board was therefore a natural step, allowing him to use his knowledge and relationships at a broader strategic level.

Ad van Dorpen (Event Management)

Ad van Dorpen focuses on organizing and coordinating the Power BI Gebruikersdagen and related events in his role as Event Manager. His goal is to contribute to a platform where participants can meet, exchange ideas, and be inspired to work together on innovative solutions.

Throughout his career, Ad has often experienced the frustration of seeing a gap between people and technology. This has driven him to work passionately every day to bridge that gap. His approach is best described as no-nonsense, with a strong focus on the people around him.

He takes the time to truly get to know those involved and works together with them to define goals that align with their strengths and potential. By creating genuine connections and making the most of everyone’s unique qualities, he aims to ensure that future events are not only informative but also have a lasting impact.

Armand van Amersfoort (Marketing & Communications)

Armand van Amersfoort plays a versatile and crucial role as the creative mind behind the foundation’s online presence. Armand is responsible for maintaining the website, creating content for social media channels, and producing the branding during the event. Through this work, the foundation’s message is communicated to the community in an effective and inspiring way.

But that’s not all. Each month, Armand works closely with the team on the preparation of the Power BI Gebruikersavond. He is responsible for the visual communication, including invitations, banners, and social media visuals, helping ensure that every event becomes a memorable experience.

The foundation strongly believes in the power of community and innovation and is committed to helping the Power BI community continue to grow and thrive. Together, the team works to create an inspiring experience for every Power BI enthusiast. Follow the foundation and stay inspired by its journey within the world of Power BI.

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator

Behind every successful event stands a strong and motivated team of volunteers. As Volunteer Coordinator, you play a key role in building that team and helping people perform at their best. You are not a board member, but you are an essential link between the board and the volunteers, and you are closely involved in the organization and preparation of our events.Your role goes beyond planning. You understand group dynamics, bring people together, and create an environment in which volunteers feel confident, valued, and clear about their role. You know how to put people in their strength, ensure collaboration, and maintain a positive team spirit before, during, and after the event.

At the same time, you take care of the practical side. You create clear schedules, coordinate tasks, and make sure every position is covered. You are the central point of contact for volunteers and stay closely aligned with the board, ensuring that communication flows smoothly and that plans are translated into action. We are looking for someone who combines strong organizational skills with a natural ability to connect people. Someone who brings structure, keeps overview, and understands that a successful event is not just about planning, but about people working together with energy and confidence.

Chris Woolderink (Evening Session Coordinator)

In that role, he was responsible for communicating the purpose and vision of our foundation and ensuring that our mission remained central to everything we do. Through his dedication, Chris became a visible and approachable figure within the Power BI community and helped ensure that the board continued to perform at its best.

Chris has decided to step down from his role as Chair, but he will certainly not disappear from the foundation. He will remain actively involved as our Evening Session Coordinator.
